Tuesday, March 3: University Closing at 7 p.m.

Due to expected storm conditions, the University will close at 7 p.m. this evening. All classes starting at or after 7 p.m. are canceled. Individual professors may opt to conduct classes or provide assignments online when the campus is closed, so students should check Blackboard and their email to learn of any alternate arrangements.  snow closing guide

University Libraries will close at 7 p.m. tonight. The University Commons dining facility, Subway, the Village Market, and the Hawk's Nest will be open normal hours tonight. All other dining locations will close at 6 p.m. 

All Hartt Community Division activities after 3 p.m. today are canceled.

Hawks Pitcher Sean Newcomb Featured in Sports Illustrated's 'Faces in the Crowd'

Hartford Hawks junior lefthander Sean Newcomb became the eighth student-athlete at the University of Hartford to be named in Sports Illustrated's weekly "Faces in the Crowd" feature. Newcomb was listed in the magazine's April 14 edition. Click here to see the feature.

Newcomb was recognized for holding the longest streak in 2014 with a 0.00 ERA which lasted 40 innings before giving up four runs in a 6-4 win over Maine (4.6.14). As of the national statistics release on Friday, April 11, Newcomb was ninth in the nation in earned run average (0.78), third in the country in hits allowed per nine innings (3.91), 34th in total strikeouts (54) and 16th in strikeouts per nine innings (10.57).

The Sports Illustrated feature also noted that "Newcomb is ranked ninth on Perfect Game's list of MLB draft prospects."
