Today is Tuesday, January 17, 2017. The Hartt School Community Division will be closing at 12 p.m. due to inclement weather. All activities beginning at or after 12 p.m. are canceled.
The University of Hartford Student Alumni Association (SAA) is developing a "Traditions Keeper" program: the definitive guide to teach students how to be a Hawk.
To fully express the idea of “Students Today, Hawks Forever,” this guide will give first-year students a program to follow to get the full Hawk experience.
The program will start as a pocket-size pamphlet called “The Traditions Keeper.” This guide to UHart student life and traditions will be handed out to first-year students on move-in day and will become a living piece of history to chronicle the rich traditions of Hawk Nation throughout the decades to come.
Here is where your participation is important — the program will have a collaborative checklist from all schools and organizations throughout the University as a challenge to become a Traditions Keeper. These events and activities are current traditions and programs that our collective community feels “round out” the Hawk experience.
– paint the anchor
– attend Midnight Breakfast
– attend a Hartt performance
We are asking you, our collective community, for your ideas on what we can include on the checklist as a tradition or a “must do” while you are a student here.
The booklet will also have advice for our first-year students by our current students and community. SAA and Alumni Relations will be present at open hour on Tuesday, April 22, to collect quotes.
Please send us your ideas (at the addresses below) by Monday, April 28, or visit us during open hour.
