Annette Rogers, lecturer in Management and Marketing at the Barney School of Business, presented a workshop on "Polishing Your Professional Presence" at the University's Entrepreneurial Center (EC) on April 2.
The presentation, attended by alumni, staff, and entrepreneurs, including EC clients, was part of the TD Bank Business Leadership Series, organized by the University of Hartford Alumni Association and the Entrepreneurial Center, in partnership with TD Bank. Other topics presented in the series include: Strategies for Making a Career Change, Ethical Leadership, Giving and Receiving Feedback, and Working Together for Peak Performance.
Participants in the April 2 workshop discussed ways to manage their professional image. The interactive format engaged the participants in self-exploration of their required professional image. The presenter used an image management process to help participants identify their target audiences and desired image and develop a plan for managing their professional presence.
On Thursday, April 30, Dr. Rogers will again present in the TD Bank Series, this time leading a group of students in an interactive discussion on "Finding Courage: A Leader’s Challenge." Participants will engage in self-examination, explore the interplay of desires, fear, and courage as a challenge for leaders, and leave equipped with a five-point model to use going forward.
The April 30 workshop is free of charge and open to alumni, faculty and staff, students, and entrepreneurs in the community. Registration for all remaining workshops is available at https://www.anchoronline.org/alumni/td-bank-leadership-series.
