The Women Composers Festival of Hartford, now in its sixteenth year, will be presenting concerts, talks, and workshops in downtown Hartford on March 10-13. A full listing of activities can be found online.
The 2016 composer-in-residence is Jessica Meyer, a New York-based composer and violist. Meyer will be giving a master class to students in The Hartt School Community Division’s Young Composers Project (YCP) on Tuesday, March 8, 6:30-8 p.m. (If you are not in YCP but would like to attend, please contact Jessica Rudman at email@example.com to RSVP.) Meyer will be presenting a talk at the Hartt collegiate Composers Seminar on Wednesday, March 9, 5-6:30 p.m. in Bliss (free and open to the public) and a concert of her works at Charter Oak Cultural Center on Friday, March 11.
The festival will include also music by current Hartt Community Division (HCD) student Elizabeth Duers, HCD alum Christine Heddon, and HCD faculty member Jessica Rudman, among many other composers from across the globe.
