The University of Hartford's Women’s Business Center (WBC) kicked off 2017 with its annual Power & Progress Business Women's Symposium last Wednesday, January 25. This year's program, which focused on "Confident Connections: Building a Bold Brand with YOU at the Center," was led by the dynamic duo, Jenny Drescher and Ellen Feldman Ornato. Jenny and Ellen founded ConnectAnd in 2014 to bring the skills and principles of Improv to the worlds of business, service agencies, and entrepreneurs.

The lively and interactive evening was attended by a full house of engaged entrepreneurs. They learned how to develop and maintain a confident, assured, yet flexible presence resulting in a powerful personal brand that helps create an advantage in networking, speaking, selling, and more.

The WBC offers engaging workshops and events throughout the year, helping women become successful small business owners and competitive in the current market. The WBC is located at the Asylum Avenue campus in Hartford, housed in the university's Entrepreneurial Center. Students, staff, faculty, and alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend programs, many of which are free. To learn more, visit www.hartford.edu/wbc.

The Power and Progress Business Women's Symposium was sponsored by the WBC in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration, Farmington Bank, and Tonsha Marketing Agency.
