The 2017-18 application period is now open for University High School of Science and Engineering (UHSSE). The University of Hartford's partnership with UHSSE affords University faculty and staff preference in the state-run lottery for UHSSE. The lottery application season is open until February 28, 2017.

University High School of Science and Engineering, located on our campus, is a grade 9-12 Early College Magnet High School with a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) theme.  All courses at UHSSE are taught at the honors or college level and qualified students have the opportunity to enroll in University of Hartford courses on campus.

You are invited and welcome to visit UHSSE on Saturday February 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. for an Open House tour and to learn more about the school and programs available.

Whether you take the tour or not, your student can apply online at www.choiceeducation.org.  In order to receive faculty and staff preference, UHSSE must be your student’s first choice.  Once your student has applied, you will need to forward a copy of your application (with student name, staff member name, and application id number) to Caryn Baseler, Magnet Instructional Coach, at basec001@hartfordschools.org in order to be placed on the faculty and staff preference list.  If you have any questions or need assistance with your application, you can contact Caryn Baseler at 860-695-9095.
