International Week Feb. 27- Mar. 4th!

We're holding our Annual International Week February 27th through March 4th!  If you haven't participated in previous events, you're in for a treat!  The full calendar is attached but here is a quick overview of the week's events:

Tuesday, February 28:

  • Lunch with Study Abroad Alumni - 12:30-1:30pm, A420 (must RSVP by Monday - details in the calendar)
  • Modern Bollywood Dance Lesson for both beginners and those already familiar with the steps - 5:00-6:00pm, GSU South Cafeteria

Wednesday, March 1

  • Dark Tourism Seminar - 12:15-1:15pm, A425 - looks at key international dark tourism sites across the globe - presented by Dr. Michael Clancy
  • Thai Cooking Class - 4:30-6:30pm, Commons - learn to prepare and cook a Thai dish, absolutely free!  Limited to first 20 students who RSVP (details in the calendar)

Thursday, March 2

  • Global Village - 11:30-2:00pm, GSU Suisman Lounge - come meet our international students!  You can learn more about the international student groups on campus, learn a new language with our ELI students, and get a Henna tattoo!
  • Study Abroad Fair - 11:30-2:00pm, GSU Suisman Lounge - interested in study abroad?  Come speak with our providers to learn more about their programs all over the globe, and speak with UHart alumni about their study abroad experiences.
  • Noche de Baile (Latin Dance Night) - 4:30-7:00pm, GSU 333/335 - want to learn or practice your Latin dance steps?  This is the event for you!  Stop by and get in the dancing spirit.

Saturday, March 4

It's our 32nd Annual International Festival!  We have an "all you can eat" international buffet representing 12 different cuisines and 2 musical performances from Inca Son and Soh Daiko.  The festival is $5 for students and $13 for non-students, and is open to community members as well. 

Students!  If you attend 4 of the above events (Tuesday-Thursday) and collect stamps on your "passport", you can get FREE entry to the festival - you can collect your passport cards from the International Center GSU 327.  Please note: this is an extremely popular event and you will need to arrive early to ensure you will have a seat.
