The following was sent yesterday to students and parents from President Walter Harrison.
Dear University of Hartford Parents and Students:
For the 2017–18 academic year, undergraduate tuition, fees, and room and board will increase by 2.97 percent overall. Please click here to see a chart with a sample breakdown of costs for next year.
This is a half percentage point lower increase than was the increase for 2016-17 academic year because we continue our concerted, multi-year effort to cut costs, keep our administrative expenses as low as possible, and utilize new ways to reduce fixed costs, such as energy.
While we seek these financial efficiencies where possible, we firmly believe that our faculty and staff are at the heart of every student’s experience. Therefore, recruiting and retaining top faculty and staff is central to the University’s mission. We are committed to an educational approach that combines disciplinary training and real-world experience accompanying lifelong skills of analysis, critical thinking, and clear writing. The knowledge, skills, and experiences gained here prepare our students to be successful when they graduate.
Personal attention and mentoring remain hallmarks of a University of Hartford education. Thank you for being an important part of our community.
