Health Services would like to inform the campus community that we have diagnosed over 218 cases as of Tuesday, March 7. We are also seeing a second strain of flu (people who have it for the second time). We would like to remind everyone that it is important to be seen by your doctor or, if a student, by Health Services if you are not feeling well and experiencing any flu-like symptoms.
If you are a student diagnosed with flu and can go home or stay with family or friends off campus, that would be best. If you cannot, please remember you must avoid all common areas and classrooms. If you have to be around other people, please make sure to wear a mask.
Faculty and staff will receive care instructions when they see their doctor but general advice is to stay home 5-7 days, until you no longer have a fever, and until you’ve completed taking Tamiflu, if prescribed.
Consider opening your windows, disinfecting, and following the universal precautions: wash your hands, avoid sharing drinks and eating and utensils, etc., with others.
