Beginning fall 2017, the University Studies programs will discontinue the 10-week Saturday Term format and will offer its courses in two, 7-week Adult Express terms falling fully within each traditional semester: Fall, Spring and Summer.
The new Adult Express format has two distinct benefits:
This new format will work more easily with the federal aid requirements, but students must be aware of how their registration will impact their aid eligibility. Briefly, those requirements are as follows:
Those credits can be taken as:
Students taking only one course in a semester in whatever format will not be eligible for federal financial aid.
Fall registration will begin on April 6 for part-time students. To find our 7-week offerings, select Fall 2017 under the “Term” drop down menu, and then “Adult Express” under the “Part of Term” drop down menu. The start and end dates for each part of term will be noted. As with the former Saturday Term courses, these courses will be available only to our part-time adult students. Paralegal courses meeting in-person on Saturdays will also follow this format.
Please contact Karen Sullivan (firstname.lastname@example.org, 860.768.4373) or Rob Toller (email@example.com, 860.768.4457) if you need help finding the courses on our website. Please contact the University Studies financial aid representative Liz Gregonis (firstname.lastname@example.org, 860.768.4946) with questions related to financial aid.
We feel this accelerated, streamlined format will allow us to offer more courses and will help our students make steady progress towards their degrees.
