Come celebrate our river! River Day is a festival of art, architecture, policy, and science projects featuring the Park (Hog) River, the environment around it, and the status of water as a resource in our state. Enjoy meeting live birds of prey, drinking sweet tree juice, and eating power bars made from bugs. See the 20’ x 30’ map of the campus and the North Branch of the river by artist Mary Miss. Write a message to a public official and take away a beautiful woodcut postcard of an invasive species.
12:15-1:15 p.m. Birds of Prey from Sharon, Audubon Society
2-3 p.m. Discussion of Mary Miss’ map of the North Branch of the Park River
3-4 p.m. River Walk led by Mary Pelletier, head of Park Watershed.
River Day is sponsored by River Ambassadors, a partnership between the University of Hartford and Park Watershed, the stewardship organization for the Park River.
