The Allen Library is getting ready to move to its new location on the lower level of the recently renamed Harrison University Libraries (the building where Mortensen Library and Starbucks® are located). The new facility is part of the Harrison University Libraries Expansion and Renovation project. It will retain many of Allen’s current features with upgrades to others.

As the library’s collections are moved over the next two weeks, Allen will be closed beginning Saturday, May 20, through Sunday, June 4, 2017. An update will be provided if the move is delayed and the closure extends to Monday, June 5. The library will reopen in time for The Hartt School Summerterm.

It is important to note that during this time, library staff will be available to respond to emails and phone calls. Please see the Allen Move FAQ (web and PDF versions) for more information about the move, interim services, or contacting staff. See also a floorplan and artist rendering.

The Allen Library houses music and dance collections, and its services, collections, and facilities are open to the entire University community. For more information about the Allen Library, see library.hartford.edu/AllenLibrary/.
