In a Campus Activities Team and WSAM Alternative Radio collaborative effort, the University of Hartford's Lincoln Theater will be hosting a live performance by NONAME as part of the University's First Week Celebration! The event is open to students and non-students, and will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.
Noname is an American artist from Chicago, Illinois, who blurs the lines of poetry and rap through the music she creates. Performing with a jazz/R&B band, Noname's music radiates positivity in a way that appeals to fans of all different genres of music. As a close collaborator with notable Chicago musician, Chance the Rapper, Noname's intelligent songwriting and thoughtful delivery has been able to captivate her strong following, as well as receive critical acclaim throughout publications such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Complex, NPR, the FADER and more. This summer Noname has played many festivals, such as Bonnaroo, FYF Festival, Osheaga, Panorama to name a few. Noname also recently announced a new album, "Room 25" as well as a headlining West Coast tour in November.
