The Role of Cell Phones in Helicopter Parenting

Lynne Kelly and Robert Duran, both professors in the School of Communication, along with Aimee Miller-Ott, published a study entitled, “Helicopter Parenting and Cell-Phone Contact between Parents and Children in College” in the Southern Communication Journal (vol. 82, April – June 2017).  The study reports the results of an investigation into the cell-phone practices and activity of helicopter mothers and fathers with their college age children.
