OUCH! Security Awareness Newsletter

The internet is a shared resource, and securing it is our shared global responsibility. The theme of week three is Today's Predictions for Tomorrow's Internet.  For this week we focus on just how digitally connected our world has become.

  • On Wednesday, you will receive a security awareness newsletter on Passphrases. Passwords have typically been confusing, hard to remember, and difficult to type. In this newsletter, you will learn how to create strong passwords, called passphrases, that are easy for you to remember and simple to type.
  • On Friday, we will distribute a second newsletter about the Internet of Things (IoT).  In the past, technology was relatively simple; you just connected your computer to the Internet. The Internet of Things is all about connecting everyday devices to the Internet, devices from doorbells and house locks to toy dolls and thermostats. Each of these IoT devices also comes with their own individual security issues.

If you have any questions about our communications in October or suggestions on how to improve our cyber security efforts, please contact Gregory Freidline. He is responsible for our security awareness program and will be happy to hear from you.
