The University’s homepage and admission website are getting a new look.
While we are currently evaluating our entire Web presence for structure, navigation, content, and design—we know that this process will take time. We have thus enhanced select pages to immediately improve our users' web experience. Launching tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 20, the hartford.edu landing page will better tell our story by showcasing more photos, videos, and stories. Campus news and events, student successes, faculty research and accolades, and alumni accomplishments will be more prominently featured.
Improved design will make it easier for you to find the information you need, while making the site navigation more intuitive for prospective students and parents. As a result, you may notice some links to other parts of the website are in slightly different places on the homepage. The menu bar on the top, as well as the options on the upper right, will continue to lead you to the most commonly visited pages.
The updated admission site, admission.hartford.edu, will also launch tomorrow. In development with our admission team for the last several months, the new site is compelling, interactive, and perhaps most importantly, responsive and compatible with all mobile and tablet devices. It’s a big step in the right direction to meet the needs of our prospective students and families, while providing a virtual glimpse into the UHart process and experience.
These are just the first steps in our efforts to evolve hartford.edu as a whole. The upcoming redesign project will include a thorough review of our content management system and content strategy, including in-depth discussions with students, faculty, and staff. Your suggestions and recommendations will help us remedy flaws in content and structure, while creating a creative and engaging site that we can all be proud of.
