Faculty/Staff E-mail to Move to Office 365

Migration to Office 365

Greetings- As you may have heard the University of Hartford Information Technology Executive Council voted on October 20 to move all Faculty and Staff email accounts from MS Exchange/Outlook to Microsoft Office 365. All students were successfully moved in August.

Students, faculty, and staff now have access to download Microsoft Office Professional on up to 5 PC or Macintosh and 5 additional mobile devices. Office Professional includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, OneNote, and Skype for Business. Included with this software download is a 1 TB storage space on OneDrive in the cloud.

To access these products navigate to https://portal.office.com enter your full email address (e.g. user@hartford.edu) note that page will change to an image of the bridge when you begin entering your password. Use your regular university password to proceed with the login. Once signed in the install button is in the upper right.

Other features include:

  • Online versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for quick editing of files directly through the web browser.
  • Access your OneDrive storage from anywhere with an internet connection
  • Your version of Office is always up to date. Never again will you worry about not having the latest Microsoft products at your disposal.
  • Currently available to Students and being made available to Faculty and Staff soon is Exchange email online. Boasting a 50 GB storage capacity, 5000% larger than our current email system!

Over the winter break, we will be migrating all Faculty and Staff mailboxes to MS Office 365, so please watch for additional information and updates in UNOTESand the OTS website at:www.hartford.edu/ots
