Work is beginning this week to clean up debris in C lot, the parking area behind East Hall. Being done in conjunction with the demolition of the outdoor pool, the project will include the processing or “crushing” of the larger pieces of non-bituminous material and mixing it with the earthen material that will be used to fill in the location of the former outdoor pool, according to John Michalewicz, senior director of facilities.

Additional noise in the area around C Lot can be expected, most notably outdoors. The work area will be barricaded off to keep cars at a safe distance, and approximately a dozen parking spaces in the far end of C Lot will be temporarily unavailable. The project is scheduled to take a couple of weeks and when finished, the entire back area of C Lot will have more space available for parking and snow placement.
