The Office of Admissions is currently seeking a female assistant overnight host for the 2017-18 academic year. This position entails welcoming and engaging prospective students who come to the University for an overnight visit. This position would work with three other members of the overnight team, including the male host, the female host, and the assistant male host. The details of the position are as follows:
Prospective students visits will take place Monday.-Thursday from 6 p.m. to noon the next day. Assistant hosts are not required to be available for this full period of time, but rather for a few hours to spend time with the students, answer any questions they might have, and take students to events happening on campus that evening. The hours that the assistant host works are flexible, based on the availability of the rest of the overnight team.
Assistants will also complete three office hours weekly at Bates House (Admissions). The work done during these hours will include scheduling potential visits, and planning activities for said visits.
The compensation for the assistant position is an hourly wage.
An overnight host is one of the first real connections that a student will make at the University. It is a pivotal role in the process helping a student's transition from high school to college, and an incredibly rewarding one as well.
