Hartford-Area Students Enjoy Free Viewing of The Nutcracker

Every year, Hartford public school students and their families are invited to attend an open dress rehearsal of The Nutcracker. Students are treated to a viewing of the full ballet at no charge, as well as a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse of the scene change that takes place during intermission.

In addition, Hartford Performs will be sponsoring classroom visits and an offsite field trip for nearly 300 students in three area schools to visit the University of Hartford for a showing of Act 1 from The Nutcracker. This year’s attendees will be second graders from Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and Dr. Michael D. Fox School, second- and fourth-graders from Parkville Community School, and first- and second-graders from Breakthrough Magnet School.
