Mark your calendar—Friday, Dec. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.—to attend “Not on My Campus,” a student-planned event in the Commons to celebrate and promote UHart Unity. Students (resident and commuter), faculty, and staff are invited and encouraged to come to eat foods with a multi-cultural focus, play games, and participate in table discussions on student-selected topics.
Each game and discussion table will be staffed by members of different student organizations. For example, a table may be staffed by a multicultural club member and a fraternity member. This demonstrates that UHart students can, do, and should work, play, and talk together, sharing the varied backgrounds and interests on campus.
“Not on My Campus” is a community observance as President Woodward referenced in step 1 of the “Immediate Action Plan” message he sent to the community on Nov. 8. Attendees will be encouraged to eat, play, and talk with other campus community members, some of whom they may have never talked to before.
The games and discussions will take place in 15-minute intervals throughout the three-hour event. Attendees are welcome to arrive and leave as their schedules allow.
The first 700 attendees will receive a “Not on My Campus” wristband. Student attendees will have an opportunity to enter to win dining dollars.
