Vivid Ballet received an invitation to perform at The White House on Monday, November 27, 2017. Artistic Director and Hartt Dance Faculty Member, Elizabeth McMillan selected four dancers from the company, including two graduates of The Hartt School Dance Division, Calvin Bittner '17 and Lea-Janelle Mitchell '15 to perform Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker accompanied by The Marine Corps Band. The event celebrated time honored traditions, our nation's veterans and had a special reception and creative arts time for children from military families. After the performance, the dancers had the opportunity to interact, in costume, with the children at the event. It was a wonderful display of dignity, grace, and beauty. The company was honored to be a part of such a meaningful and historic event.
In Addition, Vivid Ballet in partnership with The Hartt School's Dance Division, will perform Handel Messiah on Saturday, December 9, 2017, 7:30 p.m. This performance features contemporary dance with Handel's iconic score. Choreography by Elizabeth McMillan
