Jessica M. Nicklin, Ph.D., has been awarded the University at Albany’s (UAlbany) prestigious 2018 Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
The award is presented yearly to an alumnus 35 years or younger of UAlbany who epitomizes the ideals of the university, in service to the community, his or her discipline, and the university. Dr. Nicklin was chosen by a committee, who reviewed an unusually large number of nominations for the accolade.
Prof. Nicklin’s impact has been broadly felt at the University of Hartford: as an Associate Professor of Psychology; an Associate Dean of Student and Academic Services for the College of Arts and Sciences; and Director of the rapidly expanding Masters of Science in Organizational Psychology (MSOP) online program. Dr. Nicklin’s scholarship has also been widely awarded, receiving the Belle K. Ribicoff Junior Faculty Prize (2014); the Charles A. Wedemeyer Award (2017) for Outstanding Contributions in Distance Education; the Morton Deutsch Award for Social Justice Research (2014); and the Belle K. Ribicoff Endowed Professorship (2016).
Dr. Nicklin will be presented the award at the 2018 Excellence Awards Gala at the Albany Country Club in Albany, NY. Dr. Nicklin holds a bachelors degree (’04) summa cum laude with honors and Ph.D. (’09) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from UAlbany. More information can be found here.
