The Hartford women's basketball team will host a #SpreadRespect Night, along with Academic Recognition Night at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31 at Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion. #SpreadRespect games, formerly branded You Can Play Nights, were created with the purpose of furthering awareness and education to ensure equality, respect and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity. That respect also extends to race, ethnicity, gender, religion and more. Students will receive free #SpreadRespect t-shirts during the second half of the basketball game to highlight the #SpreadRespect message. This event is part of the America East Conference initiative, and is another in a series of ongoing events centered around "UHart Unity".
As part of Academic Recognition night, America East commissioner Amy Huchthausen will be on campus to present our student-athletes with the Walter Harrison Academic Cup during a halftime recognition with all of our student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 GPA or better during the Fall 2017 semester. In addition to the recognition with our student-athletes, we will recognize the faculty and staff that have played a major role in helping our student-athletes achieve success in the classroom. All faculty and staff have been invited to claim two complimentary tickets to Wednesday’s game. Tickets can be claimed by following the link here: http://hartfordhawks.com/sb_output.aspx?form=59
Any tickets claimed will be available at Will Call on Wednesday night. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Malcolm & Brenda Berman Athletic Ticket Office at 860-768-4295 or email@example.com.
