The journey to field a women’s lacrosse team began more than two years ago, in October 2015, when Hartford first announced that it would sponsor a women's program. Decker came on board during the summer of 2016 and hired assistant coach Liv Pyne that September . She completed her staff with the additions of assistant coach Melissa Jaworski and volunteer assistant Tara Coyle.
