Join the Archives’ Online Volunteer Transcription Project: Information Session Feb. 8

The goal of the transcription project is to make handwritten materials or audio materials in the University’s digital repository more accessible and discoverable.

There are no required hours and you can work on the project remotely at any time!


  1. You must be a current University of Hartford student, staff, or faculty member.
  2. You must have a Google account. If you do not have a google account, you can create one at <>.

How to Join

Simply email <> and provide:

  1. Your name,
  2. Your University email address,
  3. Your Google email address, and
  4. Let us know you would like to join the Archives’ volunteer transcription project.

There will be a brief information session on Thursday February 8 at 12:15pm in the Woods Classroom (main level of Harrison Libraries). Attendance is not required for participating in the project, but is encouraged. There will be cookies and snacks for attendees!

The first project will be transcribing the correspondence of Harold Bauer, world-renowned pianist and mentor to Moshe Paranov (Co-founder of the Julius Hartt School of Music). Most of the letters are from Bauer to Paranov from 1928-1951.
