BOSTON – Less than 48 hours after the University of Hartford women's lacrosse team picked up a huge 20-4 win against Delaware State in the program's inaugural game on Saturday, Debbie Phillips was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Phillips went off for seven points in her collegiate debut, scoring five goals while tacking on two assists to pace the Hawks in the win against the Hornets. Her first collegiate goal — which came 31 seconds after the first-ever draw on Al-Marzook Field — was a historic one, as it marked the first goal in Hartford women's lacrosse history.

A native of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Phillips contributed three goals during a 10-0 run that put the Hawks ahead by a 13-2 count at halftime. She went on to tack on two more scores in the second half as Hartford cruised to the win.

Falling to St. Francis on Monday, the Hawks have two more games on the docket this week. Hartford heads to Quinnipiac for the program's first road trip on Wednesday (3 p.m.), before returning home to host Bryant on Saturday (12 p.m.).
