Interested in getting a paid job at the university? Committed to being a model representative of the University of Hartford? The university’s Office of Admission is in need of a male overnight host as well as a male assistant overnight host.
The Overnight Host helps to provide prospective students with the optimal experience of campus life. The Overnight Host lives in one of our freshman complexes and hosts visiting accepted students through a “day in the life” of a UHart student. These visits entail taking guests to eat at Commons, shadow classes, and attend on-campus events. If you are considering the job, you should be willing to commit up to 5 days a week for 7 months of the school year (the Overnight Program runs Monday – Thursday from 6pm to around 12pm the following day).
The benefits of the Overnight Host job include: a stipend to cover the cost of room and board for the academic year, hourly payment for all time spent working office hours in Bates House, increased potential to get additional jobs, opportunities to meet many new people, and more.
The Assistant Overnight Host assists the Overnight Host with bringing prospective students to meals, classes, and events on campus. The assistant host is also required to work in Admissions (Bates House) for three hours a week. If you are considering the job, you should be willing to commit at least eight hours a week to the Overnight Program (around two hours in Bates House, and about six hours with prospective students on campus).
The benefits of the Assistant Overnight Host job include: hourly payment for all time spent with prospective students and working in Bates House, increased potential to get additional jobs, opportunities to meet many new people, and more.
We are looking for one male overnight host and one male assistant overnight host who are involved in the campus community, have excellent time management skills, are sociable, have a flexible schedule, and are sophomores or juniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher. If you feel that you would be a positive representative of the University, please fill out the appropriate application (found at the end of this article under "Documents") and return to Kimberly Bigelow, Assistant Director of Admission, in Bates House or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will be accepted until March 26, 2018. If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly at the email address above, or by phone at 860.768.4642.
