LEARN@LUNCH: Deliberative Pedagogy—Teaching Choices
Tuesday, March 27th 12:15-1:45p
Slobodkina Reading Room, Hillyer
You are making choices every day. Your students are, too. In this workshop, Dr. Rebecca Townsend (Communication, Hillyer) will share a type of significant learning-oriented experience you can offer to your students: deliberative pedagogy. This strategy of teaching engages students in meaningful dialogue and deliberation with fellow classmates, people on campus, or in the community. It can be scaled to fit part of a class period or a whole semester. By the end of the workshop, you will have ideas and resources to help you include deliberation in your courses. Lunch will be served!
