On Tuesday, April 24th, the Cardin series and Hillyer College are jointly bringing award-winning writer, Amity Gaige, to Regents Commons in Hillyer Hall from 12:15-1:15, where she will read from her novel, Schroder. The reading will be followed by a Q&A and the chance to have your copy signed by the author (we will have copies for sale).

Gaige -- a down-to-earth and passionate spirit who happens to live right here in our midst, in West Hartford -- is the author of three novels, O My Darling, The Folded World, and Schroder, which was shortlisted for The Folio Prize in 2014.  Schroder has been published in eighteen countries and was named one of Best Books of 2013 by The New York Times Book Review, in addition to being reviewed in the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Kirkus, The Women’s National Book Association, Cosmopolitan, Denver Post, and Publishers Weekly, among others. Gaige, previously a writer-in-residence at Amherst College, has recently been awarded a Guggenheim, as well as a prestigious MacDowell Colony fellowship.

We invite you and your colleagues and/or students to come hear Gaige speak and to ask her your questions about her books, in particular, or the writing process, in general.
