Alpha Lambda Delta Welcomes 93 New Members
University of Hartford's chapter of the National Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for First Year Students initiated 93 new members on Saturday, April 28th. Founded in the spring of 1924 at the University of Illinois, ALD is a national honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first year students. Today, ALD has over 250 chapters throughout the United States and more than 700,00 students have been initiated into membership.
Membership in ALD is open to full-time first year students who earn a scholastic average of 3.65 or better at a four-year college or university. These 93 new members join the 140 members already initiated into our ALD chapter. President Kelsey Ortiz and Faculty Advisor Dr. Vanessa L. Bond led the ceremony following welcoming remarks by Dean of Undergraduate Learning Dr. James Shattuck.

Alpha Chi Welcomes 44 New Members
The Alpha Chi Honor Society inducted 44 new members on Saturday, April 28, at a ceremony in Wilde Auditorium.
The new members, as well as their families and friends, were welcomed by Dean of Undergraduate Learning James Shattuck. The Alpha Chi faculty advisor, Dr. Eoin King and the 2018–19 Presidents of Alpha Chi, Ethen Casavant and Alyssa Petrancosta, led the ceremony at which the honored students received their certificates and pins. Seniors also received blue and green graduation cords.
