It is with selfish sadness that I must inform the University community that Hillel Director Jason Oruch will be stepping down from his post at the end of June. I selfishly wish that he was not leaving because for the past four years he has done a fantastic job as Hillel Director. His student engagement efforts, fundraising, and commitment to the local community has been without peer, and students have consistently responded to his empathic leadership. His mission has been one of collaboration and the stories of his collaborative efforts with academic and administrative departments, student organizations, and local houses of worship have been legion. Jason has loved his University of Hartford experience, and the only thing that can take him away is the call of assistance to his family. Jason will surely be missed…please see his farewell letter attached…and Jason, thank you for your excellent service to the University and for leading the improvement of Jewish student life on campus.
