Susan Gottlieb, Office Coordinator for Judaic Studies, Nancy Dudek, Office Coordinator for the Writing Program and Philosophy departments, and Donna Galin, Office Coordinator for the English and Modern Languages departments were presented with the sixth annual Academic Staff Excellence Award on Monday, May 7th.
Provost H. Frederick Sweitzer surprised Susan with the award during the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies opening celebration. Nancy and Donna, who were jointly nominated, were awarded during a gathering of faculty and staff in their departmental offices.
Susan, Nancy, and Donnna were all recognized for their demonstrated commitment to the University mission and its core values of integrity, creativity, and excellence. In presenting the award, Provost Sweitzer read comments from several of the letters that were submitted in support of the nominations.
“Susan is a wonderful resource for our students and you will often find them in her office. She feeds them, counsels them, encourages and supports them, and contributes to their education in so many ways.
Regarding Nancy and Donna:
“I appreciate and admire their ability to coordinate and cooperate for the good of the university; indeed, I believe that their professional relationship provides a model for all of those who work with them.”
Created in 2011, the Academic Staff Excellence Award serves as one way to recognize the exemplary service and outstanding professional contributions of our academic staff and their integral role in advancing the academic mission of the University of Hartford.
