WEBINAR DESCRIPTION

LEED for Starters: A Contractor’s Guide Guide was created to provide an introduction to sustainability, green buildings, and the LEED v3 and v4 rating systems as it is related to Contractors. This Construction Institute session is ideal for construction professionals and students seeking to learn the fundamentals of how sustainability can be applied to the built environment, and how LEED can be utilized for designing and building green buildings. In addition, the session looks at the cost and performance of building LEED projects. We will also look at a LEED certified project to see how green strategies can be applied on a real project.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand fundamentals of sustainability as it applies to construction professionals.
  • Explain green building process, benefits and cost.
  • Identify differences between traditional vs. Green building process.
  • Analyze a construction professional's role in designing & building green buildings.
