Hartt School Alumnus Performs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Brian Johnston (BM - Trombone Performance 2016) will be performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from May 31st - June 3rd. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is regarded as one of the great orchestras of the world, and is known for their legendary brass section. Brian will be playing assistant principal trombone on Tannhäuser Overture and Overture to Die Meistersinger von Nüremberg, two well known works written by the German composer Richard Wagner. The program is conducted by Marek Janowski at Symphony Center in Downtown Chicago. While at the Hartt School, Brian was a member of the honors ensemble 'Performance 20/20', and the contemporary ensemble 'Foot in the Door'. He studied privately with John Rojak.
