Principles of Project Management Workshop

This introductory Construction Institute workshop includes an overview of the required skills necessary to be a successful project manager for today’s modern-day design/construction practitioner, focusing on the core competencies required to meet these everyday challenges.

During the fall of 2018, each CI Project Management workshop will consist of online modules with assessments, as well as an in-person group session. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discussion of today’s project management delivery systems (Design-Bid-Build thru IPD).
  • Discussion of the many disciplines needed to manage projects competently.
  • Discussion of the many technologies (such as BIM, Energy Modeling) needed in order to manage projects efficiently.
  • Focus on the core competencies required to meet  everyday project management challenges.

DETAILS AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • This workshop will consist of online module, case study with discussion questions and one in-person session.

  • Participants should plan to spend approximately 60-90 minutes to complete the online training prior to the in-person session.

  • Online training begins on September 19, 2018.  Online module, case study and discussion questions need to be completed by September 25, 2018.

  • In-person session to take place on September 26, 2018 in Hartford from 8:30 -11:30 A.M.
