Jonathan Lawson, University of Hartford provost from 1985–94, and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from August 1984 to December 1985, passed away this past Tuesday. After leaving UHart, he served as provost at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where he and his wife, Pam Cross Lawson '82, a Barney School of Business graduate and former UHart staff member, resided.

"Jonathan cared deeply about the University of Hartford and our community," recall Jane Horvath, associate professor of economics, and Chuck Colarulli, senior associate provost. "As young faculty members, we appreciated his leadership and his dedication to the faculty as well as his support for the development of new academic programs."

Services will be announced at a later date. Online condolences can be offered here.
