As a reminder to the University of Hartford campus community, contacting the Department of Public Safety during an emergency will produce the most efficient response time from first responders. During emergency situations it is common practice to dial 911 to seek help however, contacting Public Safety will get Public Safety Officers to your location were they can assist and take immediate action prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Service, or municipal Police or Fire Departments. The Department of Public Safety’s emergency line is 860-768-7777. It is recommended that each member of this community program this number into their cell phones to have readily available during an emergency situation.

If you find yourself in an emergency situation while off campus, dialing 911 is the most efficient way to get the response you need in a timely manner.
