Dear Colleagues:

I write to announce the University’s annual campaign for United Way will be extended to Friday, Dec. 14.

We apologize to those of you who had difficulties accessing the online giving site in recent days. Your customized link and log-in information were resent by email on Nov. 26. If you need it resent again, please contact Lynn Galvin at ext. 4250.

These past few weeks have been devastating to so many people, showing us how vulnerable we all are to losing everything we hold dear but also the impact that acts of kindness can have on others.

Almost every area of campus has a campaign volunteer (see listing), but if you don’t know how to reach someone for help or to request a paper pledge form, please contact Lynn Galvin at ext. 4250 or my office at ext. 4220. We will be happy be to assist you. As in the past, we will have a drawing for those who participate in the campaign. For giving at any level, we will have the following prizes available:

  • Gift certificates to the Campus Store
  • Two gift packs and tickets to either Men’s or Women’s Basketball (VIP Section) during the 2018–19 season
  • Free parking for next year on campus (2019–20 academic year)
  • Four tickets to the Garmany music performance, Spring 2019
  • Four tickets to any performance of The Hartt School Community Division’s Nutcracker
  • One-year membership to The Sports Center (fitness center) beginning January 2019
  • Gift certificate to Carbone’s Kitchen in Bloomfield
  • Hewlett-Packard all-in-one printer donated by Procurement Services.
  • Two tickets for a day-long professional conference titled “Women Who Build” on February 21. Donated by the Construction Institute

In addition, one lucky individual will be eligible to go to lunch with President Gregory Woodward.

Only one prize per person will be awarded.

We are striving to get as many people to participate in the campaign as possible, regardless of the amount of the donation.

I know with everyone’s help, we can have a great finish to this campaign and help so many of those in need.
