Dr. Bin Zhu, Associate Professor of biology in the College of Arts and Sciences, presented his research at the Northeast Aquatic Plant Management Society (NEAPMS) Annual Conference in Albany, New York on January 8-10, 2019. The title of his presentation was "Exploration of Secondary Metabolites of Several Invasive Plants and Their Anti-Cancer Effects". This project was supported by the university sabbatical award.
At the conference, Professor Zhu was elected to serve as President-Elect of this society and will become President next year. The society is a diverse group of professionals dedicated to understanding the unique needs of aquatic plant management in the Northeast and communicating that knowledge to both the public and private sectors.
