Navigating Campus Today

With the region experiencing snow and significant icing this past weekend followed by the current bitter cold, please be alert to possible icy spots on campus as classes begin today.

Staff have been working since the beginning of the winter storm on Saturday evening to clear the main road, parking areas, walking paths, and building entrances. However, conditions created by the storm, and the severe cold that has followed, have resulted in some pathways and parking areas still having some icy areas.

Unfortunately, when the cold gets this extreme, treatments to melt snow and ice lose much of their effectiveness. While staff continue to work tirelessly to make the campus as safe as possible, we ask for your help as follows:

  • Please use caution when walking or driving on campus.
  • Wear proper footwear.
  • Be aware of staff working to remove snow and ice.
  • Let us know if you encounter an area of campus needing attention through hartford.edu/reportit, the LIveSafe app, or by calling 860.768.7925.

Thank you.
