With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.
If you want to live on campus next year, this is information you will need to pay attention to! The process for Room Selection for the 2019-2020 Academic Year will begin soon.
If you are a first year student or admitted to the University of Hartford for the fall of 2018 or later, you are required to live on campus for your first two years. See our website for more information about the requirement and exceptions.
What is Room Selection? Room Selection is the time when you get to select where you are going to live for next year.
There are two important steps that everyone must do if they want to participate in room selection:
When do I pay the Room Reservation Deposit and submit my Housing Application?
Beginning February 1st, 2019 you can pay the Room Reservation deposit. Starting on Monday, February 4th at 10:00am you can complete the Housing Application. The Housing Application is available 24 hours after you pay the Room Reservation Deposit (example: if you pay on a Monday, the Housing App will be available on Tuesday).
The deadline to pay your Room Reservation Deposit is Thursday, March 7th.
The deadline to submit your Housing Application is Friday, March 8th.
What is the Room Reservation Deposit?
The Room Reservation Deposit is a fee required to be able to participate in room selection. It is payable through CASHNET or in person at SASC (Student Administrative Services Center). 24 hours after you pay the Room Reservation Deposit you can then fill out the Housing Application.
How do I fill out the Housing Application?
The Housing Application is available through your Self-Service Account. You need to log into your self-service, go to the Office of Residential Life page, select applications, and then select Fall 2019 – Spring 2020.
What happens after I fill out the Housing Application?
After you fill out and COMPLETE the Housing Application, you are now eligible to participate in Room Selection! You can participate in Room Selection in a few different ways.
Anchoring (current apartment/room and In Area)
Mixed Gender Room/Apartment/Suite
Regular Room Selection
More information will be released about each way of participating in Room Selection.
Anchoring and Mixed Gender require a supplemental form that will be due on Friday, March 1st.
What if I don’t complete my Housing Application by the deadline?
You can still submit your Housing Application even if it isn’t by the deadline. BUT you will not be able to go through Anchoring, Mixed Gender, or Regular Room Selection. You will go through Supplemental Room Selection which occurs after Room Selection.
