Scholarship for Part-time Adult Women Pursuing Undergraduate Degrees

Town and County Club Scholarships 2019-2020 - Call for Applications

The Town and County Club is a private, member-owned club established in 1925. Founded by women who were civic, social and intellectual leaders of Hartford, the club continues to attract individuals of energy and achievement. 

The Town and County Club Scholarship’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to adult female students who are in the process of completing their undergraduate degrees. The award will equal the cost of tuition, fees, and books for one or more courses up to a maximum of $5000, depending upon the institution attended. This scholarship is open to female students who will be matriculated in an undergraduate degree program in one of nine colleges in the Greater Hartford area, including the University of Hartford.  

Applicants must be female, 25 years of age or older, a resident of one of the 29 towns served by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, have completed a minimum of 15 hours of college-level work either full-time or part-time with a GPA of 2.5 or above. In addition, applicants must have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Federal Student Aid Report (SAR) or submission of a tax return for 2018.

A completed application must include the application form, unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended in the last five years, a copy of all pages of your 2019-2020 Federal Student Aid Report (SAR), a copy of your 2018 federal tax return, a personal statement answering questions on the application form, and a letter of reference from a faculty member with whom the applicant has taken at least one course. 

All application materials must be received by Noon on February 22, 2019, by the Scholarship Committee at the Town and County Club, 22 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
