The 2019 Writing Contests are now accepting submissions!
Every year, the Department of English & Modern Languages holds writing competitions in ten categories, recognizing work written in introductory classes (like WRT 110, 111, and 210); critical essays on literature; interdisciplinary essays; and original poems, plays, and stories.
We will give away thousands of dollars in prize money.
The competitions are open to any University of Hartford student.
Did you write a great essay in WRT 110, one or two years back? Send it in! Do you have any poems or stories tucked away on your computer? Send them in! How about any essays that span more than one discipline? It is free to enter these contests. Why not take a chance?
The deadline for entry is March 8th at 5:00 PM.
For a full description of the categories and how to enter, go to the English & Modern Languages website:
Below you will also find two PDFs, one with a full description of the contest categories and the other with instructions on how to enter.
The competitions are made possible through the generous support of University of Hartford alumni.
