Dr. Rebecca M. Townsend, Assistant Professor of Communication in the Humanities Department of Hillyer College, spoke at two conferences this January.

She was a featured speaker at the Transportation Research Board's (TRB) Community Impact Assessment Subcommittee meeting January 15, 2019 in Washington, D.C., where she discussed strategies for community engagement with particular focus on engaging under-served populations. TRB, part of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, "provides innovative, research-based solutions to improve transportation."

On January 19, in Boston, at the Massachusetts Municipal Association (MMA), she was part of a panel that provided advice to elected officials in Massachusetts how to conduct meetings, parliamentary procedure, and keeping meetings moving.
