Celebrating the Life of Professor Cynthia Ritvo Tomorrow in Regents Commons

The University of Hartford and Hillyer College mourn the loss of Professor Cynthia Ritvo, professor of mathematics, who passed away on March 27. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 16, from 12:30-2 p.m. in Regents Commons, Shaw Center, we will be conducting a celebration of life in honor of Professor Ritvo. About Professor Cynthia Ritvo:

Cynthia graduated from Smith College and earned her graduate degree at SUNY Buffalo. She served as chair of Math & Sciences Department in Hillyer College. She began her teaching at Hartford College for Women (HCW) and then joined Hillyer College in 2003. Between the two institutions, she served the University for over fifty years. In 1989 she was named Professor of the Year at HCW. In 1991 she was named Connecticut Professor of the Year. Her commitment to the advancement of women, especially those seeking to enter STEM disciplines, was unparalleled through the course of her career.
