Holy Week (also known as Passion Week) is the time from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday (Resurrection Sunday). Passion Week is so named because of the passion with which Jesus willingly went to the cross in order to pay for the sins of His people. Please join us for the following Holy Week events being held at the Catholic Campus Ministry Center. All are welcome!
Tuesday, April 16 at 8 p.m.
Sorrowful Rosary: Pray the rosary using musical reflections for each mystery.
Wednesday, April 17 at 8 p.m.
Stations of the Cross: Travel with Jesus on his last journey with reflections on what it means for your life today.
Thursday, April 18 at 8 p.m.
Holy Thursday Mass and the Washing of the Feet
Friday, April 19 at noon
Good Friday Service and Adoration of the Holy Cross.
According to the Church's ancient tradition, Mass is not celebrated on Good Friday, it is a continuation from Holy Thursday Mass. The celebration of the Lord's Passion consists of three parts: the Liturgy of the Word, the Adoration of the Cross, and Holy Communion.
As a reminder: Please remember that Good Friday is a day of abstinence from meat as well as a day of fasting. Only one full meal is permitted for Catholics between 18 and 59. Two smaller meals are permitted, but the small meals should not equal a second full meal. Drinking coffee, tea and water between meals is allowed. Snacks between meals are not allowed.
Also, the Archbishop has requested that we abstain from using our cell phones (for any reason) on Good Friday. Please consider making this sacrifice.
There is NO Mass at the Center on Saturday (Easter Vigil) or Easter Sunday.
